Plugin Board Below is a simplified drawing of the board containing the Character ROM/RAM and Configuration Register circuitry. The 24-pin socket on the right is wire-wrap with short pins and plugs into the Character ROM socket. (I was lucky in that respect. In later years I saw many Vics with no sockets at all!) The Character ROM plugs into that socket with its /CS1 pin lifted. The 24-pin socket in the middle is unused, reserved in case I think of something else to cram into my Vic. The 28-pin socket on the left holds the 6264 8Kx8 static RAM. NEXT PREV NEXT I do have "something else" to add, but unfortunately it does not fit in the space of a 24-pin dip socket, or in the seemingly empty space at the bottom right corner, which actually has a bunch of wires on the underside. The something else will have to go elsewhere.
