28/8/2010 This module was inspired by a 1957 article on experimental music composition
using an early digital computer (Brooks, et al: An Experiment in Musical Composition).
It is a 4 stage sequencer. Stages 1,2 & 3 work as usual, but the 4th stage can be either a repeat of stage 1, 2 or 3 or set by a 4th pot.
The 4th stage is controlled by a separate clock/trigger, although when the main circuit reaches the 4th step this clock is disabled
and whatever output it is on at this point will be the 4th stage of the sequence.
Clear?
Imagine you set your pots so the notes from your VCO are 'C' 'E' 'G' 'A'.
Now start up the sequencer and feed it two clock signals.
The outputs will of course depend on the clock signals but an example would be:
C E G A
C E G C
C E G C
C E G G
C E G E
C E G C
C E G A
and so on.
There are two sets of four LEDs, one set indicates the stages, the other indicates which pot will be the 4th stage. There is a provision to add gate outputs for each stage if desired.
There are 3 outputs, regular CV, inverted CV and glide CV.
