4MS Pedals Atoner EuroRack Kit construction

  • Construction (from kit) Build video
  • Haven't seen any videos from 4MS re building their kits.
  • So why not do one myself.
    • Hope this helps others get into building their modules from the ground up.
    • Its a great way to learn the basics of Analog Systhesis.
  • 1. Resistors 1st.
  • 2. Resistor arrays then IC sockets, header pins etc.
    • 3. caps, diodes and trimpots. (Careful with orientation)
    • 4. Mount jacks to faceplate,,, then place pots on PCB to orientate with
  • faceplate. (dont solder to pcb until you have attached the pots firmly to
    • faceplate). Once you solder its difficult to detach the faceplate from PCB
    • should you wish to trouble shoot your soldering in the future.
    • 5. make sure you ground the jacks etc to the PCB (I forgot to do this at first.. doh!)
  • 6. Insert ICs into their sockets. ... watch orientation.
  • 7. you are done!
Korg Monotron Original - Hack / CV controlled

  • Hacking the monotron is a great learning experience.
  • Korg have uploaded all schematics.
  • The PCB is even marked with Test points.
    • Sequenced via CV and Gate using the Non Linear circuits bindubba1 & 3
    • sequencers.

    • The monotron is cheap and begging to be circuit bent and hacked.
  • Its a shame that the monotron filter used is only the low pass one from the
    • Korg MS 20.
    • To get a real feel of the beauty that is the MS 20 you also need the high pass.
    • Please Korg... put the HP filter in your next monotron.

  • Anyway, a different flavour again. I still like the original the most.

  • Its amazing what a simple and cheap delay circuit can do.
  • t sounds and behaves totally differently from the original monotron
